○ 春
・桜が満開です The cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
・日本人はこの時期、桜の木の下でお弁当を食べたり、お酒を飲んだり、
歌を歌ったりしてお花見を楽しみます
The Japanese enjoy this time of the year with "hanami" (cherry blossom viewing) parties under the cherry trees with picnics, drinking and singing.
・日本では新学期は4月に始まります
In Japan, the new school term begins in April.
・子どもの日にはこいのぼりを立てます
In Children's Day, we put up "koinobori" (carp streamers).
・4月末からゴールデンウィークの連休になります
From the end of April, we have the Golden Week, a succession of holidays.
・新緑の季節 a season of fresh greenery

○ 梅雨
・雨がしとしと降る Rain falls lightly.

A Buddhist festival for welcoming home the souls of departed ancestors and for holding memorial services.
・神輿を担ぐ
Carry a portable shrine / miniature shrine on one's shoulders.
・浴衣
Yukata, which is made of cotton, is a kind of Japanese traditional clothes for summer wear.
○ 秋
・秋は行楽にぴったりの季節です
Autumn is a perfect season to enjoy outdoor activities.
・秋は過ごしやすい季節です Autumn is a comfortable season.
・朝晩はかなり冷え込みます Mornings and evenings are quite chilly.
・実りの秋 harvest season
・読書の秋 / スポーツの秋
Autumn is the best season for reading / sports.
○ 冬
・日本の気候の特徴は四季がはっきりしていることです
The climate of Japan is characterized by four distinct seasons.
・日本の多くの地域では冬に雪が降ります
Most parts of Japan have snow in winter.
・なかでも日本海側に多くの雪が降ります
The Japan Sea side, in particular, has heavy snowfall.
○ 年末
・師走はとても忙しい時期です
The end of the year is the busiest season.
・年末には家や会社を徹底的にきれいにする大掃除があります
In the end of the year, we do a thorough cleaning of the house and the office, which we call "Year-end Cleaning".
・お正月飾りやおせちの材料を買うのに忙しいです
We are busy buying New Year's decorations and food.
・日本では年末からおせち料理という正月用の特別な料理を作ります
In Japan, people prepare special New Year's food called "osechi ryori" from the end of the year.
・お正月は日本で最も大きな年中行事です
New Year's is the biggest event of the year in Japan.
・雑煮は餅や野菜を入れた汁で、新年を祝うために欠かせない料理の1つです。
Zoni is a soup with rice cakes and vegetables and is an essential dish for celebrating the New Year.
・私は初日の出を見に行きます
I go to see the first sunrise of the year.
・元旦には寺社へ初詣に行って新年の健康と幸福を祈ります
On New Year's Day, many people go for the first temple or shrine visit of the year and pray for health and happiness in the new year.
○ 雪

・みぞれ rain and snow mixed / sleet

○ 災害
・昨年、日本は台風や地震など多くの自然災害に見舞われました。
Last year,Japan was hit by natural disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes.
・私の住んでいるところは、それほど多く地震の被害をこうむりませんでした
As for the place where I live, we didn't suffer damage from the earthquake so much.
・世界最大級の地震により大きな津波が起こり、十数カ国に及ぶ30万人以上の人々が犠牲となりました
The world's most powerful earthquake triggered massive tsunamis killing more than 300,000 people in a dozen countries.
・あなたやご家族の皆様が無事であるよう祈っています
I hope [pray] that all of your family [loved ones] are safe [all right].
○ 援助のはじまり、援助の終わり
・フォスター･チャイルドの登録 enrollment（動詞はenroll）
例）ラクシュミは1998年にフォスター･チャイルドとして登録されました
Laxmi was enrolled as Foster Child in 1998.
・フォスター･チャイルドの登録終了 cancellation（動詞はcancel)
フォスター・チャイルドが何らかの理由によりフォスター・プランの登録
から離れること。つまりその子どもがフォスター・チャイルドでなくなることを
「登録終了」と呼んでいます。
例）ホアは、家族の引越しにより、フォスター･チャイルドとしての登録が
終了となりました
Hoa was cancelled due to family relocation.
・ただし、以下の理由の場合は、「援助の卒業（graduation、動詞はgraduate）」という言葉を使用します。
* フォスター･ファミリーの生活状況の改善（Improved Family Situation、
理由コードはA）
* コミュニティ全体の状況改善によるフォスター･プランの撤退(Phase
out：Improved Family、理由コードはV)
* 基準年齢に達したため（Age Limit、理由コードはL）
○ チャイルドとの別れ
・子どもが成長するのは仕方のないことです
It is only a natural part of children growing up.
・お別れが辛いです It is very sad to be parting ways with you.
